Privacy Policy — B3 Connect
This policy covers the B3 Connect app on Google Play (package com.b3tech.mobileappconnect) and the App Store (bundle ID com.b3tech.mobileappconnect), developed and published by Inspired Tech LLC.
Last updated: August 29, 2026
B3 Connect is a device check-in app used by businesses to keep track of the phones and tablets they own. If it is installed on your device, your employer or their IT provider asked you to enroll it using a code they gave you.
It reports information about the device — model, operating system, battery, network — and, if you allow it, the device's last known location. It does not read your messages, your email, your photos, your contacts, your browsing, or what apps you use.
Who is involved
Three parties, with different roles:
| Who | Role |
|---|---|
| Inspired Tech LLC | Publishes B3 Connect and develops the software. We build and maintain the app and the service it reports to. We do not use the data it collects for our own purposes (advertising, resale, or profiling). |
| Your IT provider | The IT service provider that issued your enrollment code. The device information goes to them, and they decide how it is used, in line with their agreement with your employer. They are the people to contact about your specific device record. |
| Your employer | Owns the device and engaged the IT provider. Any workplace policy about what happens to this information is between you and them. |
If you did not enroll the device yourself and are unsure why the app is installed, ask your employer or IT provider first — they will have the context we do not.
What the app collects
Nothing is collected until the device is enrolled with a valid enrollment code. After that, the app sends a "check-in" on a periodic schedule (by default roughly every 12 hours) containing the following, and nothing else, in the check-in payload.
Identifiers
| What | Detail |
|---|---|
| Device identifier | Two identifiers we generate ourselves for this installation. They are not your Apple ID, Google account, phone number, advertising ID, or hardware serial number. |
| Device name (optional) | A label typed during enrollment — for example "Front desk iPad". It is free text, so whoever enrolls the device may type anything, including a person's name. It becomes the device's name in the IT provider's console. |
Information about the device
| Category | What is sent |
|---|---|
| Hardware | Manufacturer, model, device type, processor architecture and core count, screen size and density |
| Operating system | Platform and version |
| App | App version, when the check-in happened, and what triggered it |
| Battery | Charge percentage, charging state, power source, low-power mode |
| Network | Connection type (Wi-Fi, cellular, none). On Android only, whether the device is roaming. |
| Security | Whether the device appears to be jailbroken or rooted |
| Region | Language, country, and time zone settings |
Location — only if you allow it
Location is the one item the app asks your permission for, and it works differently from everything above.
- You are asked before the system prompt appears. The app shows its own explanation of what location is used for and who receives it, and you can decline there.
- Declining changes nothing else. Location is requested only after enrollment has already finished. If you say no — at our screen or at the system prompt — the device carries on checking in normally, simply without a position.
- It is a single last-known position, not tracking. The app reads one cached position and attaches it to the periodic check-in. It does not follow your movements, does not report continuously, and does not run a live location service.
- You choose the precision. If you grant precise location, the position is accurate to roughly a building. If you choose approximate, it is accurate to roughly two kilometres. Either is sent as-is, along with its accuracy and the time the position was taken.
- You can change your mind at any time in your device's Settings, without uninstalling anything.
The purpose is to help locate a company device that has been lost or stolen. Because the position comes from a periodic check-in, it can be hours old — it shows roughly where the device last reported from, not where it is now.
Precise geolocation is treated as sensitive personal information under California law. We use it only for the lost-or-stolen purpose above, and we share it only as described in "Who the information is shared with." You can limit this use by turning off location permission for B3 Connect.
Information collected automatically
The list above is what the app puts in a check-in. Separately, when the app talks to our service, the servers that host it (Microsoft Azure) record ordinary technical data needed to run a website or API:
- IP address
- Request metadata (time, endpoint, status, amount of data)
- Diagnostic and error logs
We use this to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service. We do not use it to profile you, and we do not combine it with advertising identifiers.
What the app does not collect
Stated explicitly, because people reasonably assume otherwise about an app their employer asked them to install:
- No messages, email, calls, or call history
- No contacts, calendar, photos, or files
- No browsing history or search history
- No record of which apps you use, or how long you use them
- No microphone or camera access
- No keystrokes or screen contents
- No Wi-Fi network names
- No continuous or real-time location
The app also has no ability to control, lock, wipe, or install anything on the device. It reports; it does not manage.
Device permissions
The app requests only the permissions it needs:
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Network access | To send check-ins to our service. |
| Location (optional) | A single last-known position attached to a check-in, and only if you allow it. See above. |
The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, calendar, messages, or files.
How the information is used
Solely to let your IT provider support and account for the devices your employer owns: keeping an accurate inventory, seeing which devices are still active, spotting a device that is out of date or has stopped reporting, and helping locate a device that has gone missing.
We do not sell, trade, or rent this information. We do not share it with data brokers. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Analytics, telemetry, and tracking
The mobile app does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. It does not use advertising identifiers, and it does not track your behavior across other apps or websites.
Our Azure backend records the operational logs described under "Information collected automatically" so we can keep the service reliable and secure. That telemetry is not used for advertising.
The app does not respond to "Do Not Track" (DNT) browser or device signals.
Who the information is shared with
| Recipient | Why |
|---|---|
| Your IT provider | The IT provider that issued your enrollment code. They see your device in their console. This includes the latest check-in values and, if you allowed it, the latest position. |
| Syncro | The IT management platform your provider uses. Each enrolled device appears there as an asset record, and check-in information is written to it. Syncro processes this on your provider's behalf under their own terms. |
| Microsoft Azure | Hosts the service the app reports to. Azure stores the data; it does not use it. |
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to prevent illegal activity or serious harm.
Third-party services
The app does not process payments and does not integrate advertising, social-login, or mapping SDKs. When location is allowed, the position comes from the device's own location services, not from a third-party maps product.
The only third parties that receive check-in information are those named above: your IT provider, Syncro, and Microsoft Azure.
How long it is kept
| Where | What | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
| Check-in history | The full history of check-ins, including any locations | 30 days, then deleted automatically |
| Your provider's console (Syncro) | The device record and its most recent check-in values, including the latest position | Until the provider deletes the record. Only the latest position is held — each check-in overwrites the last. |
| Azure diagnostic logs | IP address, request metadata, and error logs | Only as long as needed to operate and secure the service, then rotated out |
The 30-day limit on history is deliberate: long enough to be useful for recovering a device, short enough that we are not accumulating a long positional record of anyone.
Your choices
| To… | Do this |
|---|---|
| Stop location being collected | Turn off location permission for B3 Connect in your device's Settings. Everything else keeps working. |
| Limit use of precise location | The same control: turn off location permission, or choose approximate rather than precise location if your device offers that. |
| Unenroll the device | Use Reset enrollment on the app's Status screen. The device stops reporting. This clears the enrollment on the device only — it does not delete the record already held by your provider. |
| Stop the app entirely | Delete the app. |
| Have your device record deleted | Contact your IT provider. If you are not sure who that is, email us at info@inspiredtechllc.com and we will help route the request. The live console record belongs to the provider and they can remove it. |
| Ask what is held about a device | Contact your IT provider, who can see the full record. You can also email us at the address above. |
Because the device belongs to your employer, your employer's own policies may govern whether you are permitted to unenroll or remove the app. That is a question for them, not a technical restriction we impose.
Security
All communication between the app and our service uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Each enrolled device holds a credential stored in the device's secure keystore, and that credential is bound to the individual installation. Access to a device record is limited to the IT provider that issued that device's enrollment code. We review these measures as the service changes.
Children (COPPA)
B3 Connect is a tool for businesses managing devices they own. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided information through the app, email us at info@inspiredtechllc.com with the subject line "Privacy Policy." We will delete the information and will not use it except where the law requires us to.
California privacy rights
Inspired Tech complies with the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the CPRA amendments. This section describes those rights in plain language. The rest of this policy is the detail behind them.
Inspired Tech publishes the app and hosts the service. We do not use check-in information for our own commercial purposes. Your IT provider is the organization that holds the live device record and decides how it is used for your employer. You can exercise the rights below with either of us; if you start with Inspired Tech, we will pass the request to the provider where the record lives.
Right to know
You can ask what personal information we have collected about a device, the categories of information, why it was collected, the sources, and the categories of parties it is shared with. That information is also summarized here:
| Detail | |
|---|---|
| Categories collected | Identifiers we generate; optional device name; device, battery, network, and region data; optional precise or approximate geolocation; IP address and diagnostic logs |
| Sources | The device itself, the person who enrolls it, and the operating system |
| Purposes | Device inventory and support; finding a lost or stolen company device; operating and securing the service |
| Parties we share with | Your IT provider, Syncro, and Microsoft Azure, as described above |
Right to delete
You can ask that personal information collected about a device be deleted, subject to exceptions the law allows (for example, information we still need in order to provide the service or to meet a legal obligation). Check-in history we hold is already deleted after 30 days. Deleting the live record in your provider's console is done by the provider.
Right to opt out of sale
We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA, and we have not done so in the past 12 months. We also do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Right to limit use of sensitive personal information
Precise geolocation is sensitive personal information under California law. We use it only to help your IT provider locate a company device that has been lost or stolen, and we share it only with your IT provider, Syncro, and Azure as described above. You can limit this use at any time by turning off location permission for B3 Connect in the device's Settings. Approximate location, if you choose it instead, is not treated as precise geolocation.
Non-discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
How to submit a request
Email Inspired Tech LLC at info@inspiredtechllc.com with the subject line "Privacy Policy," or write to the address in "Contact" below. Please say whether you want to know, delete, or limit. To delete specific information we will need to verify your identity to the degree of certainty the law requires, and we will need enough detail to identify the device (for example the enrollment or the device name in the console).
Changes to this policy
If what the app collects changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top is updated. Material changes will also be communicated to IT providers deploying the app so they can inform the people using it.
